Who is this Candidate for Mayor of Haltom City and what is she purposing to do for the People?

Debra Carrion-Fraire is a Chaplain and Leader of a ministry: Urban Survival USA Ministry, (http://www.urbansurvivalusa.com) in Haltom City. She was born and raised in Michigan, a college graduate attending Southwestern Michigan College, as well as a Western Michigan University; and a graduate of LDPT College in Last Days Biblical Studies in Lancaster, California.

A certified Facultative Mediator and former Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children, also worked in a pilot program for State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services assisting TANF recipiences in over-coming barriers to employment, targeting barrier and assisting with the elimination so they become productive citizens.

As Mayor she would look to bring change at the root of our concerns beginning with:

  • Changing Home Rule Leadership Structure: She advocates for a shift to a Mayor-Council system to increase accountability and influence in local governance.
  • Repeal of Article 3-11 of the Charter: Debra supports repealing this article to empower the City Council and improve government efficiency.
  • Directly look and assess the issues with the Water and Sewer chargers.
  • Support for Police and First Responders: Debra emphasizes the need for adequate resources and support for police, firefighters, and emergency services to ensure community safety.
  • Fixing Roads and Infrastructure: She plans to prioritize road repairs and enforcement of speed limits in the residential area’s and also to include infrastructure improvements to enhance safety and functionality.
  • Lowering Property Taxes: Debra aims to reduce property taxes to alleviate financial burdens on families while maintaining essential city services.
  • Taking Control of Planning and Zoning Ordinances: She intends to enhance transparency and community involvement in local development decisions.
  • Improving Opportunities for Youth: Debra promotes family-oriented activities and support for local businesses that cater to youth, fostering a nurturing environment.
  • Expanding Senior Citizen Center Facilities: She proposes expanding facilities for seniors to include diverse recreational activities and wellness services.
  • Strengthening Haltom City’s Economy: Debra plans to attract new businesses and support local entrepreneurs to boost economic growth and job opportunities.
